Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake, launched in 2019, continues to rake in the sales. The development team announced on Twitter that it’s sold over 13.9 million copies. Though the fastest-selling title in the franchise goes to Resident Evil Village, selling over 10 million copies in a little over three years, Resident Evil 2 remake is currently the series’ highest-selling title.
The last milestone announced was 13.9 million sales as of March 31st, 2024, with 300,000 units sold in that fiscal quarter. How many additional units were sold on top of that is unknown, but we should find out in the coming months with Capcom’s next financial report.
Resident Evil 2 remake is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Along with receiving extensive acclaim for its visuals and gameplay changes, it’s considered a benchmark for modern remakes, inspiring the likes of Motive’s Dead Space. Check out our review – we awarded it a 10 out of 10.
