Nintendo announced a small, but mighty list of additions heading to its premium subscription service as part of the Nintendo Direct on Tuesday. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords; Metroid: Zero Mission; Turok: Dinosaur Hunter; and Perfect Dark are all being released to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on Tuesday.
Any title on its own would be a formidable addition to the catalog of games offered on the subscription service, but now we get all four. Metroid: Zero Mission is a classic Metroid game and highly regarded as one of the best entries in the series. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter takes players back to some good prehistoric hunting and exploring on the Nintendo 64. As for Perfect Dark, there couldn’t be a better time to revisit the original given that the reboot just got a big gameplay trailer at the recent Xbox Games Showcase — and the game will have online multiplayer.
Then, of course, there’s another Zelda game. The standard Nintendo Switch Online already contains the NES version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but now people will be able to play the quirkier Four Swords addition to the game that came out to the GameBoy Advance in 2002. The best part? This game will also have online multiplayer so now those who didn’t have enough copies of the game (or enough handhelds) as kids might finally be able to revisit and play the classic with friends.
An individual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack costs $49.99 per year or you can also buy a family membership that costs $79.99 per year and can include up to eight users.
