If you’re looking to revisit fighting game history in all its glory, Capcom is offering Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 owners a chance to do so for under $20 — and for PC players, Steam is now also offering the discount. Through early July, you can pick up the Capcom Fighting Bundle (which includes Capcom Fighting Collection and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary) for about 66% off. That’s 22 Capcom classics for about 90 cents each!
I’m not even sure why I’m writing other words here, I’m just gonna list all the games instead. From Capcom Fighting Collection:
- Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
- Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
- Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
- Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
- Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
- Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
- Red Earth
From Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter II
- Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Street Fighter III: New Generation
- Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
So much Street Fighter history: one Street Fighter, five Street Fighter IIs, three Street Fighter Alphas, and three Street Fighter IIIs, which I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to multiply out to get 23 SF units in all. Pretty sure that’s how it works. Probably.
Even if just a few of those games pique your interest, it’s still a great value, and we — that is, the royal, collective trendsnapnews hivemind — have at least a dozen favorites among the list, chief among them Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
The Capcom Fighting Bundle deal runs until July 4 on the PlayStation store, July 8 on the Nintendo store, and July 11 on Steam. As of this writing we haven’t been able to find a comparable deal for Xbox, which currently lists the bundle for $60, but we’ll keep an eye on things and update if that changes.
So… what should you do with all those savings? We’d like to recommend a certain Raul Julia classic, which assuredly will keep Capcom talking about it at shareholder meetings for a long time to come.
Update (July 1): Steam is now also offering a steep discount on the bundle, valid through July 11.
