It was recently confirmed that PlayStation will be returning as a general exhibitor to Tokyo Game Show this September for the first time in five years, and speculation has suggested that, among other things, the company will be offering another look at Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at the event, given that it’s currently its only major first-party released lined up for next year. Interestingly enough, in fact, it seems like director Hideo Kojima himself might be indicating the same.
Taking to Twitter, Kojima recently shared the poster for Tokyo Game Show 2024, accompanying it with no caption whatsoever. Clearly, Kojima wants us to keep an eye on the event, though the question remains why exactly that is the case. His studio, Kojima Productions, says on Twitter that it will be selling merch and goodies at its TGS booth this year, but will that be all that it will be doing?
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is scheduled to release for PS5 sometime in 2025, so hopefully it won’t be too long before we get another look at the open world title.
